Lake Aurora Announces its New Executive Director

Introducing Mark Clark...

Mark was born in Appalachia, Virginia in 1955. In 1959, Mark moved to Orlando with his parents Hubert and Louise Clark. His family made First Christian Church, Orlando their church home from that time forward. It was there that Mark was introduced to Lake Aurora, and beginning in 1967 he became a regular face at summer camp. As a long term "Transplant" Mark saw many changes in FL before he graduated from Boone High School and headed to Johnson Bible College. In 1976, as a student at JBC, Mark was on summer staff as the craft director at LACC. Upon graduating from JBC, he has ministered in KY, IL, FL, GA, CO, and IN. He has served as Youth Minister, Associate Minister, Preaching Minister, Children’s Minister, and Minister of Discipleship. Mark has been active in every camp area in which he has ministered. While serving as Youth Minister at Westside Christian Church in Bradenton, Mark participated at Lake Aurora as faculty, dean, member of the camp committee, and helped develop the Big MAC program.

Mark has been married to Deborah since 1979. They are best friends, husband & wife, parents, partners in ministry, and traveling companions. They have three children. Stephanie, and her husband Kyle Nelson, are JBC grads and minister in Terre Haute, IN. Jonathan is a senior finance major at Indiana State University. Joy is a second year radiography student at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis. All three children are actively involved in their own areas of ministry—music, worship, technology, and teaching.

In coming to Lake Aurora, Mark is concluding a ministry of ten and a half years with Park Chapel Christian Church in Greenfield, IN. Mark has served as Children’s Minister and Minister of Discipleship & Adult Education and handled many of the administrative duties as the church has grown from a Sunday morning attendance average of 300 to more than 1,200 per week. He has been active in many community organizations including Rotary and the Chamber of Commerce.

Mark and Deborah are excited about the opportunity to minister to the children and churches of Central Florida through Lake Aurora ministry . They look forward to getting to know you and partnering with you in the awesome joy of communicating Jesus Christ to this region. Mark is anxious to visit with you and your congregation soon.

Mark Clark to receive the 'baton of transition' August 8, 2006

It is with great excitement that the Board of Trustees of Lake Aurora Christian Camp announces the hiring of its new Executive Director.

On May 22, 2006, the Trustees voted to call Mark Clark, of Greenfield, Indiana, to be the next Executive Director of Lake Aurora Christian Camp. He will observe some of our summer programs in June and officially begin as Executive Director on August 2, 2006 when he and Deborah move back to Florida.

Mark is no stranger to Florida. His family was faithful and active at First Christian Church of Orlando, and as a boy he began his Christian camping experience at LACC. Listed to the left is a brief biography of Mark’s life and his previous involvement with Lake Aurora.

We are thrilled to have a man of Mark’s caliber, energy, and faith to pick up the baton. We ask that you pray for Mark and his family during this change and that God be praised for answering our prayers in providing a new leader.

In Him,

The Board of Trustees of Lake Aurora Christian Camp
