PARENTS: Leave those cell phones at home!!! When your children come to camp, we do our best to eliminate all of the outside distractions that would keep your child from having a strong spiritual experience. Part of the value of coming to camp is the separation from family and friends. If a child really wants to call home, he/she will be allowed to do so with the Program Director's help.Cell phones are not allowed at Lake Aurora for campers. Please do not send one with your child and instruct them to "keep it hidden" so it won't be taken. This is wrong for several reasons: first, it is against camp rules and secondly, it requires your child to be dishonest with us by hiding the phone, just in case they need to call home.Thank you for helping your kids to have the best experience possible. |

For your safety and benefit these reasonable rules will be followed: |
1. Christian conduct and character is expected to be evident at all times.2. You will be expected to follow the schedule.3. You will not be permitted to leave the grounds except for scheduled excursions.4. All sickness and accidents must be reported to the nurse promptly. Lake Aurora has a modest accident insurance policy covering each camper.5. Your clothing should be of a modest nature. The standards of the world are not the standards of Lake Aurora. This especially includes swimsuits.6. Shirts and clothing promoting alcohol or tobacco products, suggestive statements, grotesque scenes, or other graphics not consistent with a Christian environment may not be worn or displayed (this includes vehicles).7. Tobacco, alcoholic beverages, and illegal items are not permitted.8. To maximize the camp experience -- radios, cellular phones, music/dvd devices/players, cards, "gameboys", etc. should not be brought. If brought, they may be removed and returned at the end of the program.9. For the benefit of the camper, telephone usage will be for emergency use only. Campers should be urged to write home rather than call. Do NOT bring cell phones! |
