Gary has served in the preaching ministry for the last thirty years; the last twenty-two years as senior minister of Indian Creek Christian Church; Indianapolis, Indiana. He holds a Master of Arts degree in church history from Lincoln Christian Seminary, Master of Ministry and Master of Divinity degrees from Cincinnati Bible Seminary in practical ministries, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Grace Theological Seminary (Indiana). Gary also teaches as an adjunct professor on the faculties of Cincinnati Christian University and TCM Institute, a seminary serving Eastern Europe.
While serving as senior minister of Indian Creek (www.thecreek.org), Gary has led the church through significant growth—from 250 individuals to 4,500 in weekend worship. Gary commits a significant amount of time each year to training and equipping leaders, both in the United States and overseas, and has completed seventy-five mission trips for the purpose of teaching pastors and church leaders in cross-cultural settings. He has co-authored a four-volume series through College Press on elder training.
Gary and Leah have been married 33 years, and have married sons, Jared and Aaron, who are both serving in the ministry. His pursuits outside of church life include running, mountain climbing, racquetball, cycling, and back-packing. Still, one of the greatest joys in life for Gary is in being called "grandpa" by five little children.

Leadership pre-conference offered again this year, Thursday through Friday, March 1-2 with intimate small group settings with Dr. Gary Johnson to challenge you and your leadership teams (volunteer and paid staff) with the important process of Strategic Planning. Come be 'The Church On Target'!
For an additional fee of $59, beginning Thursday at 11:30 am, this Leadership Component, includes 2 meals on Thursday and breakfast on Friday. Leaving you time for some personal "R & R" before the Men's Retreat begins Friday evening at 6 pm.
