"New Life - Waiting on the Harvest..." by Mark Clark
The grove is orange unto harvest and the harvest is plentiful. Ask the Lord of the harvest therefore, to send pickers into his grove." It is harvest time in FL.
The reminders are every where. The pickers are in the groves from sunrise to sunset. The trucks are cycling in and out pf the processing plants and shipping houses are buffing and polishing the latest crop for our Northern neighbors.
Best of all though, is the fragrant aroma of the cooking oranges wafting from the processing plants. It is like a giant orange cake just moments before it is removed from the oven for cooling and icing. That aroma drifts along with the ever changing winds to let all know that harvest time is here.
It is harvest time in FL. I am not talking about citrus, I am talking about souls. There is a need for "pickers", laborers, if you will, to be about the Lord of the harvest’s business. There are men and women, but more importantly, children and teens that are ready and willing to hear the Good News of hope about Jesus Christ.
80% of those who make a lifetime commitment to Christ do so before their 11th birthday! From that point on it becomes increasing difficult to make inroads in their lives. The mission of Lake Aurora is to help to make that impact as early as possible. That is why we offer so many opportunities to so many ages from 1st graders to senior adults.
As we celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus, let us remain committed to the purpose of the Lord of the Grove—the harvest. May you be ready to walk the rows with us at LACC this summer and during our retreats—we need pickers!
