Inside the housing units of Azalea Dorm and Daisy
Dorm.
Each housing unit is furnished with bunk beds for a
maximum sleeping capacity of 20. The inside photo is looking onto the back porch
overlooking Lake Aurora. 16-18 campers and 2-4 counselors based on camper age
group. The photos above represent the look of both boys and girls housing unit
on Lakeside. Housing units on Lakeside are known as "dorms".
We do not
pre-assign beds. Campers select the dorm and bed on Check in day starting at 4
pm for "most" programs. Campers with 'Express' Check in may go straight to the
housing check in areas. Those with 'regular' check in must receive a pass from
the main office before selecting a bed.
Exception...Confirmed volunteer counselors needing to have specific campers in
their housing unit may contact the camp office no later than one week prior to
the program beginning.
The
adjoining bathroom to each dorm has 2 showers, 3 sinks and commodes (Tree named
dorms have 2 toilets and 2 urinals. Flower named dorms have 3 toilets.)
A screened in porch graces the back porch of 8 of
the 10 cabin/dorms.
Azalea, Daisy, Hibiscus, Jasmine, Marigold and Rose are west of the Chapel.
(Housing check in for these dorms are located under shelters in that area.)
Maple, Oak, Palm, & Pine are northeast of the Chapel.
(Housing check in for the boys' dorms is located under the "Steel Tent"
pavilion.)
The large Chapel building in the center of
Lakeside campus has a game room, T-shirt Shoppe, and "Canteen" (Snacks) on the lower level and a large meeting area on the upper level.
The upper level is where camp officially begins with orientation on the
first day.
The
Gilbert Program Center is an open picnic pavilion with bathrooms. It is also the meeting base for the low ropes
challenge course.
