Tent Pegs

The Benefits of Continuous Regular Giving

2022-2023 - "Roots Secure and Branching Out"

Branching out to build the large assembly building and Phase one/part one of Stirring Waters (Splash pad/Bathhouse). An updated estimate of $1.9 million dollar build, the large assembly building will provide a large climate-controlled space for our special needs guests/wheel chairs as well as a worship center for our campus-wide youth and adult programs. As of July 2023, we have over $1.1 million in savings. We have signed our construction contract and materials have been ordered. We expect delivery in December 2023.

Our previous goal retired a $720,000 mortgage 40 months early (January 2020) saving close to $70,000 in interest with 450 tent peg commitments. To God be the glory!

What a does a "tent peg" do for Lake Aurora?
  • It's a stake. Tent Pegs are our main source for expansion and large improvements.

  • Allow for growth Debt-free! While $25 a month seems small, when coupled with 450 others, it will provide a consistent cash low to build needed program space debt-free.

  • It involves everyone. Teamwork gets the job done! Christians working together display the awesome power of our God. Whether it is a one time gift of $900 or $25 a month over three years.

  • It moves us beyond today into tomorrow. Never has a time been greater to pool our resources to expand a ministry where one can 'be still and know that I am God".

  • With the debt paid, our roots are now secure and we are free to branch out to the next opportunity. We will continue to use the 'Tent Peg' to reach these goals.

Long-Term Designated Project Donations:
The Sunshine Project

"Removing the barriers to great experiences, and bringing sunshine to every individual's life, regardless of their mental or physical abilities."

The Sunshine Project is the development of the Lake Aurora campus in such a way that it will meet our present and future needs and, at the same time, make us a premier campus for serving those with disabilities. Below is a list of those expansion projects...

Large Assembly Building - The Oak Hammock (CURRENTLY IN PROGRESS!)

Strategically placed near the center of the campus, the Oak Hammock is planned to be a versatile space to seat 500 yet have partitions to create smaller meeting spaces. Acoustically engineered to offer a worship space for our large retreats and campuswide summer programs. As of November 2023, sitework has begun, materials delivered in December!. We need to raise an additional $700K to build it debt free.

Infrastructure

Updating the Lakeside sewage system, chapel modifications, and debt reduction. The State is requiring us to update our sewage system on this south campus to tie into our sewage treatment plant as a condition for any new construction and necessity for replacement of aging systems.

Stirring Waters
An exciting aquatic facility that will not only allow the typical active campus to enjoy but will also be accessible to those with serious disabilities. As beautiful as the waters of Lake Aurora are, historically they have been inaccessible to the ministry at least seven times due to natural issues. This will give us a stabilized and controlled environment to provide more accessibility increasing our ministry opportunities significantly! We are partnering with "Removing the Barriers Initiative", a 501(c)(3) organization, to assist us in raising funds and awareness of this project. Click the logo for more info.
