It is exciting to use the Oak Hammock Building for keynote sessions. Some workshops and other activities are outdoors. Bring a jacket for possible chilly weather and your favorite camp/lawn chair.

About our 2027 Keynote Speaker
Dr. Brian Smith, Dallas Christian College, Texas
With a three-generation link to the Lake Aurora ministry, it is an honor to welcome Dr. Brian Smith back to the Lake Aurora campus as our keynote speaker.
He holds a B.A. in Bible and Christian Ministry from Florida Christian College (2003), an M.A. in Contemporary Christian Theology and Philosophy from Lincoln Christian University (2005), and a Ph.D. in Theology from the University of Exeter (2011; England). Brian has briefly served as a youth, associate, and preaching minister in interim and part-time roles and serves churches through preaching, teaching, and strategic planning.
Dr. Smith, the president of Dallas Christian College since 2014, has expanded the college's impact in equipping undergraduate and graduate students spanning five continents and 22 countries who are engaging in fields of disciple-making, church planting, mission, and Bible translation through vibrant partnerships with organizations including Renew. org, Team Expansion, and Pioneer Bible Translators.
He had a very clear, early calling to serve the Kingdom in Christian higher education. He served Florida Christian College for 10 years as its Vice President of Academics and professor of theology prior to being called as President of DCC. His teaching areas include theology, philosophy, worldview studies, biblical studies, world religions, and contemporary religious movements.
Brian holds the Lake Aurora ministry in very high regard, as a very special place for his family and a deeply formative experience in their lives. He grew up in the Southside Christian Church in Ft Pierce, Florida, where they held one of the longest-running retreats with their church families for over 28 years.
He understands the difference that time spent away in a place dedicated to growing in faith in Christ makes and wants to challenge men in their walk and journey in the Word.
